Summer Hockey Camps
North Toronto Arena · St. Mike's Arena
Program Overview
Beat the summer heat with a week on the ice. Our Summer Hockey Camps at North Toronto Arena and St. Michael's College School Arena give every camper two full hours of on-ice development each day, led by experienced, energetic coaches. Prior hockey experience is required.
- Junior Hockey Camp (Ages 5-7): Junior Hockey Camp features one ice-time each day, with a focus on game-based learning: skating races, puck-handling challenges, and small-area games that keep every camper moving and touching the puck. Skills are introduced through play rather than drills, so young players build balance, edges, and confidence without feeling bored or doing the same drill over and over.
- Senior Hockey Camp (Ages 8-12): Senior Hockey Camp is built for older players and features one ice-time each day. Each session features extensive skill development drills for skating, stickhandling, shooting, and passing, with detailed coaching from our instructors. Players also play small-area games which puts those skills to work in real competition. Campers are grouped by ability so players are pushed alongside peers at their level.
NEW Camp Programming
This summer, our Senior Hockey Camp and Girls Hockey Camp are moving to a more skill-focused format. Each daily ice session centres on traditional skill development drills for skating, stickhandling, shooting, and passing, with coaches giving campers detailed feedback as they work on new skills through the week. Small-area games are still part of every session, so those skills get used at game speed.
Off the ice, Senior and Girls campers do dryland training, speed and agility work, and some light hockey skills (weather permitting), mixed in with multi-sport play to stay active and have fun. Junior Hockey Camp keeps its games-based format, with off-ice time spent on multi-sport play and coordination games suited to ages 5-7.
At NT Arena, we also build in water time to cool off twice per week (weather permitting). Junior Hockey Camp enjoys the Eglinton Park Splash Pad, while Senior Hockey Camp enjoys the North Toronto Community Centre outdoor pool. It is a great way to reset between sessions, stay refreshed, and make the most of summer.
